YOGA INSTRUCTION
Kate finds great satisfaction in weaving together the teachings of the yogic system with the wisdom of Structural Integration. Currently, Kate teaches two classes — a hybrid in person/online chair class and a restoratives class — as well as workshops throughout the year.
winter solstice practice
December 20th, 2025
2:00 - 4:00pm
$40
As we arrive at the winter solstice, let’s take some time to raise our internal temperature through strong yoga asana practice, warming our muscles, bones and spirits! Stoking our internal fire allows us to meet the darkest day of the year with a sense of peace as the strength of the practice keeps our inner light bright.
Afterwards, we will settle into the serenity of a restorative practice to soothe and calm our nervous systems. While winter has the potential to drop us into a quieter, more introspective place, we often feel pulled in multiple directions with family and work events, extra holiday revelry and the expectation to be “merry" when we really want to be … napping!
Working with a restoratives practice at this time of year can be a powerful antidote to all the hubbub pulling us off of our center. And there’s nothing like a long supported rest after working strongly with the breath and body.
This workshop is open to all levels, though students with acute injuries or conditions may find the first half of the practice too strenuous. Contact Kate directly if you have any questions or concerns.
Please wear layers as you will want the extra warmth during the restorative practice. We will meet at Yoga on Beacon (3063 Beacon Ave S), though please note that registration is directly through Kate as this is a private rental and not on the studio calendar.
cultivating a home practice
january 10,2026 2:00 - 3:30pm
$40 - price includes one 20-minute follow up zoom session with kate
We love to go to yoga class for so many reasons - it connects us to our community, we are guided through sequences that relax and nourish our body, we get to temporarily rest our planning/thinking mind and just be told what to do!
But what about when we don’t have time to get to class, or we are far away from a studio or a lack an internet connection? What if we just have 15 minutes and we long to feel better?
Many people know their lives would be improved if they just did even a few minutes of movement practice during the day, but they are at a loss of what to do, and how to start. It can feel like an insurmountable hill to climb when we don’t have the tools to feel empowered to get on the yoga mat and start moving.
This workshop will de-mystify the process and empower you to take your movement practice into your living room, your backyard or the gate at the airport! Once we know some of the basics of how yoga is put together to create balanced, therapeutic sequences, it becomes a creative and fun way to connect with the energy and physicality of our body.
All levels of practitioners are welcome. Please wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement, and bring a notebook and a pen to jot some things down! We will meet at Yoga on Beacon (3063 Beacon Ave S), but please note that registration is directly with Kate, as this is a private rental and not on the studio calendar.
chair Yoga for Balance & Mobility
wednesdays 9:30-10:15am
yoga on beacon- in-person and virtual (zoom)
In this ongoing series we work either seated in a chair or standing up. For many folks, getting down on the floor (as is often the case in typical yoga classes) is a major barrier to engaging with a yoga practice, whether it be from arthritis, disc issues, knee/hip replacement, size/weight, high blood pressure… you name it! In this class we will work strongly, in a way that is more accessible for many with these concerns. Register here
