WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SESSION…

  • First

Each session begins by checking in about how the client is feeling and what they have noticed since the last session. We also discuss goals and expectations for the session.

Afterwards, the clients stands and/or walks so that Kate can see what kind of postural or structural pattens exist.

  • Second

The visual information is gathered as a way to see how the body is functioning in gravity, and where there could be more balance and ease.

The client then transitions to the table for about 50 minutes, perhaps once or twice getting up and standing or moving around to see how the work is feeling.

  • Next

Toward the end of each session, Kate will work with the client seated or guided through specific movement to help integrate the changes into everyday life. Often, there will be “homework” for the client to explore on their own between sessions.

  • lastly

For many people, the changes felt during a session are instant. For others, the work percolates over the course of a few days. There is not one way to experience the work. Kate is most interested in the client having a meaningful, resonant experience, however that may happen.
